Communities

The three largest communities in each county of the TAP Alliance are Corinth (population 14,931), Booneville (population 8,733), and Iuka (population 3,014). These communities provide business and industry with a strategic location, industrial buildings and land, existing infrastructure, favorable operating costs, and a skilled workforce. Residents enjoy a low cost of living, a growing economy, a rich heritage, strong communities, outdoor recreational opportunities and more.

Corinth

Several major transportation routes intersect in the city of Corinth. Three railroads pass through the city. These are Kansas City Southern, Norfolk Southern, and Redmont Railway. Two four-lane U.S. Highways also run through Corinth: US 45 and US 72. These transportation routes provide access to and from Corinth to major metropolitan areas and markets.

The South Corinth Industrial Park is located in Corinth along with several other industrial buildings and sites available for sale or lease.

A satellite campus of Northeast Mississippi Community College is located in the South Corinth Industrial Park. The campus has over 50 university parallel areas of study, 26 technical career areas, and 8 career certificate areas. Through the WIN Job Center program, the college offers workforce training services and programs.

The Magnolia Regional Health Center provides quality health care with a range of emergency and routine health care services. The Center also provides home nursing care and operates two rural clinics.

Residents of Corinth enjoy the city’s parks and playgrounds that provide play areas and sporting venues in town. Those looking for other types of outdoor recreation can visit nearby golf courses, state parks, and a wildlife management area. Two major festivals are held annually in downtown Corinth: Slugburger Festival and Hog Wild.

Booneville

Two industrial parks are located in Booneville. The Booneville-Prentiss County Industrial Park is a few blocks north of downtown. The West Prentiss Industrial Park is located on the northwest edge of town.

U.S. Highway 45, a north-south four-lane highway connecting the Gulf of Mexico to Chicago, passes through the western edge of town, and a Kansas City Southern rail line passes through the center of town. Transporting goods to major markets is easy.

The main campus of Northeast Mississippi Community College is in Booneville with an enrollment of over 3,000 students. The college offers technical, career, and transfer courses and is accredited by the Southern Associated of Colleges and Schools. Through the WIN Job Center program, the college also offers industry-specific training.

Booneville has two community parks with sports facilities, outdoor recreation at nearby Bay Springs Lake and John Bell Williams WMA. The local Rails and Trails Museum, Cunningham House, and Battle of Brice’s Crossroads Visitor’s Center offer exhibits and memorabilia for history buffs.

Iuka

Iuka Industrial Park is located in the northwest corner of Iuka. A railroad is adjacent to the property and four-lane U.S. Highway 72 is within two miles. Interstate access is only 40 miles from the site. Tri-State Commerce Park, with a Tishomingo Railroad rail line, is also in Iuka. Mississippi Highway 25 runs north and south and is located just north of Iuka. It provides 4-lane transportation from Jackson, Mississippi, to Tennessee.

Iuka Hospital, a branch of North Mississippi Medical Center, provides emergency, general acute, intensive, and coronary care to the residents of northeast Mississippi, parts of Tennessee, and parts of Alabama. Several long-term care facilities are in the area.

Two city parks provide playgrounds, sports recreation, and picnic areas. Nearby state parks, the Tenn-Tom Waterway, and Pickwick Lake provide outdoor recreational opportunities including fishing, hunting, boating, and hiking. Shiloh National Military Park is only 30 minutes from Iuka.
