Caterpillar

What Our Industry Partners Have to Say About Us

Caterpillar began remanufacturing in Northeast Mississippi in 1982. Locally, this business has grown to a workforce of approximately 1,300 in Corinth and Booneville. Caterpillar dealers and customers from around the world tour our facilities each year. In addition to remanufacturing engines and large engine components, our operations include engineering, salvage technology development, business management and dealer support.

For the past three decades, Caterpillar has benefited from the skilled, dedicated workforce available in this area. We have an engaged team that achieves milestones in safety and quality, while making recommendations for continuous improvement. Our partnerships with Northeast Mississippi Community College, the Alcorn Career and Technology Center and local high schools have further enhanced the expertise of existing employees, as well as the next generation of employees.

What Our Industry Partners Have to Say About Us

Dennen Steel broke ground for its Tishomingo County manufacturing facility in July 2011. Federal, state and local officials provided exemplary support via the Mississippi Development Authority, Tishomingo County, the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Tennessee Valley Authority. “All agencies significantly affected our decision to locate Dennen Steel’s southern operation here,” said Andrew Dennen. “We look forward to many successful years in Tishomingo County.” “Also instrumental in moving the project forward and continuing to offer support, local leaders are generous with providing business networking opportunities.”

The new 50,000-square-foot facility at Yellow Creek Port will manufacture precision stampings, fabricated metal parts, tooling and assemblies.

With our customers accepting only the highest quality products, we require a dedicated workforce. From people we have met throughout Northeast Mississippi, employing such individuals will be the easiest part of this process.

Kimberly-Clark

What Our Industry Partners Have to Say About Us

Two manufacturing facilities, representing two business sectors, comprise the Kimberly-Clark Corinth, MS site. The Global Nonwovens Mill began operation in 1980 and the Professional Products Mill opened in 1985. In combination, the two operations manufacture product components for Adult Care, Feminine Care, Health Care, Baby Child Care, and K-C Professional business units. Currently, the total workforce exceeds 300 Kimberly-Clark employees and more than 150 third-party contractors.

First and foremost, the Kimberly-Clark management team and employees are committed to safety as a value, proven by remarkable milestones in the past five years. An increased emphasis on quality also prevents non-conforming products from reaching our customers. Lean Manufacturing principles were introduced in 2009 to further enhance business results. In the past 30 years, Kimberly-Clark has invested more than $500 million in new equipment and technology upgrades in the site – a testament to the confidence the company has in this location and its people.

With a highly skilled, dedicated and engaged workforce, Kimberly-Clark looks forward to many more years of manufacturing success in Northeast Mississippi.
